If someone has a criminal case pending with sexual assault charges:
The victim-complainant has a couple of options - either ask the Crown assigned to their case if a ban is in place (or get in touch with the office of the former Crown on their case) OR if their case is pending/has a guilty verdict, they can use the link above to search by the accused/offender's name and see if anything comes up OR use the file number given to them by Crown. If the results display no records OR show a "Limited Access 486.4" in place of the accused's name, there is a ban on file. You can now ask the Crown to remove the ban from your name, should you choose.
